An Industrial building on the East of Singapore are facing with termites issue for a period of time. A proposal was given for Post Treatment or Corrective Treatment but it was rejected due to cost factor and also most areas are tenanted out.
Another proposal was send out and this was approved for the use of in-ground baiting station. We are currently one of the Approved installer for this baiting station known as Exterra. A total of slightly above 150 in-ground bait station was install around the vicinity of the entire premises. Just less than a week after installation, live termite activities was found inside 3 in-ground bait station due to the bait attractant placed which actually emit carbon dioxide inside the soil to attract worker termites.
A non-repellent bait was put in place for the rest of the worker termites to start the grooming process of feeding the other individual inside the colony mainly the nymphs, queen, soldiers etc. After a week when we carry out our follow up visit to replenish the bait we found no further activity of termites. It have now been more than a year since we installed the baiting station and I am glad there are no further sighting of termites reported at all.
A client living in a residential estate approach us to look into their termite’s issue. From past records, there are activity of termites found within the premises. To be more pro-active to prevent a recurrence the client would like some form of treatment done but do not like the idea of having holes drill around the house.
As such, we decided to use Trithor, a green mark product that protects your property by preventing the entry of termites. This is because termites can’t get through the unique weave of the fibrous blanket incorporated within Trithor and it contains crystals of a highly potent termite control agent that repels termites, driving them away from your property.
The active component in Trithor kills termites fast, so any particularly tough termite that might actually penetrate into the Trithor membrane is quickly eliminated before it has any chance of entering your property.
Trithor consists of a geotextile fibre blanket impregnated with deltamethrin and then laminated top and bottom with a rugged plastic membrane. This complex entrapment process ensures it is non-hazardous to anyone handling the product or who comes into contact with it.
Its been 2 years since our installation and so far there are no feedback on any sighting of live termites.
